Gaios is concerned as the capital of Paxos Island and the biggest port, with large ferries, hydrofoils, sea taxis and (occasionally) the hydro plane from Corfu.
Gaios is the largest town on the island. It is still relatively small and quaint with Venetian architecture, a maze of side streets and pedestrians square on the seafront stripe.
Restaurants and snack bars are scattered throughout the town, to cover all tastes and demands.
The surrounding olive grove is offering a high standard of local Greek cuisine, which is a must for each visitor.
Local amenities include a post office, banks, chemist, doctor’s surgery, gift shops, high-school, jewelery and handmade craft shops, as well as supermarkets, bakeries and butchers.
Gaios hosts the only night club on the island and its range of waterfront bars is extensive from a quiet traditional coffee place to livelier bars playing a variety of music.
There is a limited number of taxis based here and a bus service, which is not very regular, but when running enables you to get to the resorts of Loggos and Lakka or smaller neighbourhoods in between.
Gaios is one of the most popular and cosmopolitan resorts in Mediterranean.
Hundreds of VIPs are visiting Gaios or living at their private properties every summer and finding a place to stay in the peak season is a big bet.
This is a very spacious villa with a beautiful pool. The view of the sea from the balcony is lovely and it is a quiet spot. The only noise you hear is distant children at a school which is not at all obtrusive. The photos are very accurate and there is a lovely lady who visits a couple of times a week to clean and change bed linen and does a very good job. You definitely need a car and there are a couple of good shops nearby.

The house is spacious, very tastefully decorated. The pool is huge and clean, no chlorine is used. Nice extra thing - free coffee capsules and cookies. Car is needed to reach the shops, beaches and restaurants. The only restaurant which can be easily reached by foot - really good family restaurant "La Familia", located in the shadow of centuries-old trees. Few kilometers away is Erimitis restaurant and bar which has possibly the best view in this beautiful and cosy island.

A great holiday villa at a great Greek island. Well situated (although you need a car/transport to get the local shops/towns and beaches). Great spacious with all the things you would expect in a holiday let. Communication with the management (EOS Travel) was excellent. Cleaning super with linen changed once a week. Some slight noise from the road below but if you are on the beach all day it does not matter. Great views.

Villa Katerini was fantastic! Both the indoor and outdoor areas were wonderful! The home was clean, tasteful, and comfortable. It is such a peaceful setting and there is a good Taverna in walking distance and a grocery store nearby. We loved our stay and hope to be back again!
