Ipsos was known as one of the most lively places in Corfu island. It is still a very lively resort - the discos and bars remain with the far side of the beach near the harbour quieter.
The name is indicative of its location at the slopes of Mount Pantokrator.
It lies against the dramatic backdrop of the hills of the North East of Corfu on the left and to your right across the sea to Corfu town.
Ipsos runs parallel to the main coastal road with typical tourist shops on one side and the beach on the other. The road and pavements have been recently renovated giving to the area a sense of tidiness. This mix of beach, road, shops, discos, etc, has made Ipsos very popular with the younger generation, who like to do several things at the same time and it does get both busy and noisy.
Accommodation is abundant not just along the beach, but also in hills just above, behind the coastal busy stripe, offering very quiet, considerably cooler and sometimes more affordable accommodation, just some hundred meters away from the hustle and bustle of the main road and the beach.
Obviously there is no shortage of night life or places to eat, but daytime you have to do with fun and games in the water, as it is a great beach for family water sports. It’s not the place for extreme sports, but it is a good place for water skiing, paragliding and learning to sail or windsurf. Diving is not exiting here, but you are very close to some of the best diving spots, so it’s just a matter of choosing one of the dive centers to go out for the day.
Sport & Nature
Water sports - Snorkeling - Sunbathing
Ipsos extended and sandy beach is equipped with sun beds and umbrellas, two large, purpose-built jetties offering water sports facilities (i.e. ringos, banana boats, paragliding and water skiing), plus boat hire, paddle boats or boat trips to the North of the island.
Car or Bike Hire
Hire a car or a bike and explore the adjacent traditional villages driving through the narrow hilly roads of Mount Pantokrator.
Dine out or enjoy the night life
Ipsos has many varieties when it comes to food, the bars, cafes and taverns. Other than offering local and Greek food, delicious Chinese or Italian cuisine.
In addition to all this, Ipsos is well known for its night life. Music bars, discos, tavernas with Greek dancing and bistros with surprising events can cover everyone's taste. Parting until the first daylight is a must, even though night's duration is never enough to enjoy every single amazing moment of this exceptional night life.
