Marathias beach is one of Laganas bay beaches, set on the west side of the bay and only 23.0 km away from the bustling town of Zakynthos, regionally belonging to Keri municipality.
It is a very quiet beach, with not so many visitors due to its difficult approach.
It is a pebbled secluded beach, with deep blue crystal waters and can only be approached through downhill cliffs.
Given the previously noted difficulty, it is also not recommended for young swimmers as the sea deepens suddenly. It is ideal though for spear gun fishing and experienced divers for snorkelling.
Sunbeds and umbrellas are available for rent and there is a parking area approx. 200 meters away. Two traditional Tavernas open daily and offer typical, tasteful Zakynthian dishes along with freshly caught fish from the Ionian Sea.
Marathias beach’s uniqueness is the combination of the mountainous areas with a blissfully scenic beach.
