Description

Testimonials

Villa Eleni is beautiful inside and out. It is spacious, homely and a few moments from the seafront, the supermarket and the square, with coffee shops, bars, restaurants and a lovely bakery. Helen was very welcoming but not at all intrusive, and we stayed less than a week but received fresh linen and towels and a cleaner visited mid-stay. It was easy to take a boat from Gaios to anti-Paxos and a short walk along the sea front to catch the ferry to Corfu, Lakka is just 20 minutes by taxi. We visited out of season but had a lovely time on the island and gorgeous weather. Would love to stay again.

Location

General Information

Gaios is the capital of Paxos Island and the largest port, serving large ferries, hydrofoils and sea taxis from Corfu and Igoumenitsa.

As the largest town on the island, Gaios is relatively small and quaint, with Venetian architecture, a labyrinth of side streets, and pedestrian squares along the seafront. Restaurants and snack bars are scattered throughout the town, catering to all tastes and demands.

The surrounding olive groves offer a high standard of local Greek cuisine, a must-try for every visitor. Local amenities include a post office, banks, a chemist, a doctor's surgery, gift shops, a high school, jewellery and handmade craft shops, as well as supermarkets, bakeries, and butchers.

Gaios has a range of waterfront bars, ranging from quiet traditional coffee places to livelier bars playing a variety of music. Taxis are limited in number, and the bus service is regular, and it enables you to reach the resorts of Loggos and Lakka or smaller neighbourhoods.

Gaios is one of the most popular and cosmopolitan resorts in the Mediterranean. Hundreds of VIPs visit Gaios or reside in their private properties every summer, and finding a place to stay during the peak season can be challenging.

Villa Eleni is a beautiful villa with easy access to the centre of Gaois with its many tavernas and attractions . The host was always accommodating and friendly. The villa was clean and comfortable and well-appointed with good amenities. Paxos is now my favourite of all the Greek islands. We had a wonderful boat trip and sea taxis leave regularly to the stunning turquoise shores of Antipaxos. I will definitely return but maybe visit late September rather that mid October as everything begins to close down. Thanks Sofronios and Eleni for a wonderful holiday. Karin and Tim

A Homely Haven of Serene Serenity

Beautifully appointed, homely and spacious. Lovely outdoor verandah and patio area and in a great location but sufficiently far enough away from the “pulse” of things that it feels totally serene. We really loved our time here and would thoroughly recommend for families.
