Location

General Information

Nisaki is only a very small village, extended from the slopes of mount Pantokrator all the way down to the sea and it is located on the northeast coast of Corfu Island, just 25 kms from Corfu Town.
Nisaki, in the Greek language, means: "small island" and it is believed that took its name from the small island, which existed in its bay. Years ago, the locals used to work on this island, shaping stones and rocks for building, brought to them by boats. After many years, the chippings falling into sea formed a ramp and eventually joined the land. Now, there is a narrow road running between the old island, where a couple of Tavernas are standing and the mainland. Lately, a jetty was constructed, linking it permanently to the coast.
The main village of Nisaki was growing up on the hill, above this inlet, where a church, a school, a small cafe and village's first houses were located.
In now days the village on its own is quite spread out and has got no real center. The main part of the village is alongside and upward the main coastal road. Above the main road there are 2-3 winding lanes that go up high, through olive groves and eventually join Nisaki with the top of Mount Pantokrator.
Hundreds of villas are scattered on the slops of the Mount, offering amazing views and making Nisaki, overall, a very popular resort, even though at most of the times a car would be necessary.
Nissaki is still an un-commercialized resort, but with unbelievable sceneries, promising a relaxing holiday. It is a tranquil village, ideal for family holidays, elderly couples and people who love traditional Greece. Young couples are also welcome, as the area offers a choice of nightlife just a few kilometers further up, in Kassiopi and / or Ipsos.

This villa has plenty of space and the pool has beautiful views over Corfu.

This villa has plenty of space and the pool has beautiful views over Corfu. The host was good with quick information and checking in was easy. The decor was a little more dated than we expected (except the newly renovated bathroom). The beds and pillows were quite firm which was okay for me, but some of our group found them hard to sleep on. The biggest disappointment was the lack of any extras such as shower gel, coffee or filters for the coffee machine, or sponges for washing up, or even hand wash in the toilet. Those small things would've gone a long way, especially considering the nearest small shop is a 15 walk and quite expensive (definitely rent a car if you can). It is more like a holiday villa rental (not a private villa that is rented out), and therefore the basic extras that I've come to expect from AirBnBs was missing. But overall this is a nice villa in beautiful but fairly quiet part of Corfu and you can definitely have an enjoyable time here.

Gorgeous Corfu Villa

Great Location- walking distance to a couple of tavernas, a supermarket and a small beach. Not far from many other beautiful beaches and amenities by car. Beautiful pool, BBQ, and amazing views from the verandas. AC if needed. Kitchen a little small but more than adequate for cooking. We discovered burning coffee as a local trick to keep the wasps away, which is a ubiquitous Corfu problem in August. I highly recommend this villa and the service and communication from the management company, Eos Travel, was excellent. Will definitely go again.
