Almyros is an unspoiled countryside area with an amazing long sandy beach and plenty of hiking facilities. It is a quiet resort with a few family run tavernas, both directly on the beach and dotted around the general area. In contrast to cosmopolitan Acharavi you will find you enjoy lazy peaceful days with all the basic beach facilities and requirements. Embrace the breathtaking scenery of the Albanian Mountains, separated only by the sparkling Ionian Sea. Dine on fresh seafood at one of the quaint local tavernas. Select a trip into nearby Acharavi for a super charged day or special evening out.
A lazy stroll from Almyros to Acharavi

It is around 40km from the airport, and it takes about an hour to get into Acharavi. The scenery on the journey is stunning as this is through the mountain and quaint old Greek villages.

The roundabout in the centre of Acharavi is called “The Pump”, because this one used to be the village pump.

A road leads from the roundabout into the old village of Acharavi. This is often missed, but well worth a stroll as there are more bars and restaurants and older, more traditional buildings.

Should someone wish can continue this road and drive up to the top of mount Pantokrator through unspoiled villages and nature.
